October 28th 2011 - Golfweek’s Best New Courses list is part of its upcoming Oct. 28 issue. Recognizing those courses that opened for play in 2010-2011, this year’s Golfweek’s Best New Courses list focuses on quality over quantity, highlighting only the top 25 new layouts – rather than the usual 40 courses – to better reflect the current pace of golf course development in the United States.
“What’s remarkable in an era of slow industry growth is how many new markets are open to golf course development,” said Bradley S. Klein, national director of the Golfweek’s Best Courses ratings program. “Perhaps the most interesting fact we’ve highlighted in our list is that a heartland state like Nebraska has three newcomers: Prairie Club’s Dunes Course (No. 4) and Pines Course (No. 11), as well as Awarii Dunes (No. 20).”
