The list, called the LINKS100, is compiled and ranked by the usual mix of architects, writers, professionals, players, and everyday Joes. However, it doesn't end there. What makes the LINKS100 so unique is that going forward, the public can vote courses up and down the list. Their vote will comprise a small percentage of the overall vote (compared to the panelists). Links assures, however, that the statistical methods they use will allow for the public's effect to still be significant.
The end result is a real-time, up-to-the-minute ranking system unlike all of the other major rankings. Official rankings will still be made annually by the panelists, but over the course of the year (no pun intended) those rankings may rise and fall.
